The girl suffered from a cough for almost three months, but she was treated at home on her own – she gargled her throat, drank syrups and teas. But recently I decided to go to the doctor and check what kind of cough it is for such a long time.
The doctor decided that Mac had a lung infection and needed a chest x-ray. What the x-ray showed surprised the girl: her heart was located on the other side, not like most people, but on the right.
“The doctor explained that my anomaly is called dextrocardia and I should tell my doctor about it,” she says.
The girl was shocked and did not understand why she found out about this only at the age of 19.
Dextrocardia is a rare anomaly in the development of the heart, when most of the organ is located not in the left half of the chest, but in the right.
Less than 1% of people are born with this arrangement of the heart, and, as a rule, it is not life-threatening.
The girl said that she had never done a chest x-ray, so she only now found out where her heart was.
But the followers cannot understand how she lived with this and did not notice this serious anomaly.
