From the minute they met, these cute rabbits were smitten with their mini sister.
Jen had no idea how quickly her bunnies Alfie and Amelie must have fallen in love with her when she welcomed her new baby Bailey in June.
From the moment they met, Alfie and Amelie were crazy about their little sister. They hung around the baby in the hospital, whose ears were almost as big as hers.
“Alfie is trying to jump into the baby seat, and Amelie is just sniffing,” Eckert explained. “But they were both very kind, so I knew they would be best friends”.
While the rabbits can sometimes be aloof, Alfie and Amelie, who live freely in the family’s Wisconsin mansion, have made it clear from afar that they are not to be disturbed when Bailey enters the room.
“She is always in the center of their attention,” said Eckert.
“They will be by her side when she sleeps. They tend to hang around her like it’s suddenly become their responsibility to protect”.
Bailey has spent her entire existence surrounded by rabbits, and she adores them as much as they love her.
She usually turns to look at Alfie and Amelie as they enter the room and happily feeds them food.
Both rabbits are Flemish giants, weighing up to 20 pounds, which will make excellent companions for her.
