A wildlife photographer recently captured the incredible moment on camera when an affectionate lion cub tenderly kissed its mother.
A mother-toddler couple share a tender moment that lasts for several seconds when the baby appears to be kissing the lion’s nose.
Luckily Julia Sundukova was in the right place at the right time to capture the beautiful scene on camera.
The 41-year-old photographer was on an expedition in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park watching a family of lions when suddenly the cub and his mother had their most intimate moment.
Although the beautiful image seems so special, Julia explained that the whole moment was very tense.
Since there were no males nearby, the cubs had the opportunity to play freely and bond closely with their mothers.
“The collared lioness was the mother of the baby she was playing with,” the photographer told SWNS.
Although she is quite an experienced photographer, Julia said that she has never had such an intimate and special encounter with lions.
“This is one of the most fun and interesting nature lessons for me,” she said. “Even though the lions were a bit out of the way, I was so happy to spend the whole golden hour with them until the sun went down.”
