A Tiny Bar for Local Squirrels…

Many woodworkers have used their abilities to create little institutions for the squirrel in their yards, ranging from a garden endurance challenge to a tiny café. However, owing to amateur carpenter Michael Dutko of Hilliard, Ohio, the local fluffy-tailed creatures are exceptionally indulged (of Duke Harmon Woodworking). He successfully finished The Nutty Bar, a wooden edifice that resembles a true tavern but serves nuts rather than alcohol.

The Nutty Bar was founded by Dutko as a result of a simple act of neighbourly goodwill. ”A few weeks ago, my neighbour and her daughter went bird viewing. ”However, they were having difficulties since the squirrels had taken over the bird feeders,” he informs My Contemporary Met. ”That evening, I had the idea that building a squirrel feeder would be a terrific way to assist them out.” The skilled craftsman began working on his idea, and it began to take shape one by one.

Dutko worked on the 25-inch-by-16-inch construction for more than 16 hours, planning, constructing, and polishing it. Cashew Dunkel, Peanut Pilsner, Almonds Ale, Chestnut Stout, Wildflower Farmhouse, Pecan Porter, and Pistachio Pale Ale are among the seven nuts available at The Nutty Bar, which are cleverly titled after beer. When duty beckons, the back bar even has a handy, gender-specific bathroom signage, dubbed ”Nuts” and ”No Nuts” by Dutko.

Dutko documented the production process in a Youtube clip. ”I’d only been on YouTube for two months and was searching for another entertaining item to add to my repertoire,” he adds. ”I had no idea the world would stretch back out to me.” Squirrel aficionados from all over the globe began asking how they could get their hands on a copy of The Nutty Bar. Dutko filed for a design patent right away, and he now offers his yard bar on Etsy. ”I’m ecstatic that what I’m doing has had such a great impact on so many people’s lives,” he says. ”I couldn’t have wished for anything more.”
