Photographer took photographs of pink dolphin while sailing in Louisiana.
The usual pink color of dolphins is only on the abdomen, but not on this dolphin.
Have you ever thought about the existence of pink dolphins or are they just cute characters?
Yes, yes, and again – yes.
Pinky is a real dolphin. Pink color in dolphins is usually only on the abdomen.
Most likely, this is due to a genetic disease. Normal skin pigmentation does not occur. Such a factor indicates that the animal is an albino, but with such a disease, Pinky is a very smart, completely normal dolphin.
For a long time, the question of its gender remained open. Experts tried to find out what gender this “pink miracle” is a girl (because of the color) or a boy. And finally the dolphin’s camera allowed it to escape during mating season.
Eric Rooney photographed this dolphin while sailing through Lake Charles, Louisiana.
Pinky is a very curious dolphin, she gets so carried away that she swims in ships up to 10 feet away. The captain shared with reporters that he was very happy when he finally found out the sex of the dolphin.
Now that it’s clear that Pinky is a girl, the next big question is: Is she pregnant? Who knows, maybe in some time another pink dolphin will appear in Louisiana.
