What a cute scene: this wonderful dog was smiling non-stop and very happy to have been rescued

This dog was nervous at first, but after arriving at the shelter, she stunned the staff.

Dogs can experience a whole range of emotions in shelters, and there’s no denying that this little pup was overjoyed to be safe.

In March 2019, seven-week-old Layla was found wandering alone through traffic. At first she was weak and nervous, but shortly after arriving at the shelter she was completely overwhelmed by the staff.

Technician Rachel Barron walked over to her kennel and started talking to the little dog when she smiled dazzlingly. “When I started talking in the babysitter’s voice, she really liked it”, – Barron told The Dodo.

“She started wagging her tail and then boom, the famous smile. Then I pulled out my phone to write it down. It was too sweet not to share”.

Layla seemed to know she was in good hands, Barron said, and the little dog won the hearts of the world with her sweet expression.

Not long after Barron shared the video, adoption requests began to pour in, and thankfully, the perfect local family came to visit after seeing Layla’s adorable smiling face online.

Nicole Tony and her husband, who already have three rescue dogs and two cats, knew immediately that Layla would be a great addition to their family.

They were absolutely right.

“At first she was shy, but you could tell she was so sweet and excited”, Tony told The Dodo.
