Here is the story of one of the best and most legendary photographs of our time.
This iconic photo captures a commendable and dedicated doctor after a 23-hour heart transplant in Poland in 1987.
This knowledgeable and experienced surgeon Relig was considered the best in this field not only by his clients, many of whom own his life, but also by his colleagues, who gave him the title of “doctor from God”.
The surgeon had a patient whose heart needed to be transplanted.
Since at that time there were no other doctors who could perform such a difficult and fatal operation, he was the only one on whom the patient’s family relied. The operation lasted about a day, and the dedicated work of the surgeon was highly appreciated.
The doctor’s assistant fell asleep on the floor, and the rest of the doctors went to rest. Meanwhile, the surgeon continued his work and intended to stay until he was satisfied that everything was in order and the patient’s heart was working normally.
As a result, the patient lived longer than the doctors themselves. About 20 years after the legendary photo was taken, the heroic doctor passed away.
This legendary and meaningful photo did not escape anyone!
