This dog was spotted stray on the roads of Texas at the age of two.
Hoping to find him a permanent home, the Waller City Animal Rescue and Sanctuary welcomed Cheech.
The shelter staff assumed that he would be afraid of unfamiliar situations because he was so small, but Cheech instantly proved them wrong.
Cheech began to show his most enthusiastic smile while in his kennel, which led the staff to believe that he was upset.
But then Cheech flashed his sweetest, most cheeky smile, and all the employees instantly fell in love with him.
Leah Sipe, chief executive of Sanctuary and Rescue, told The Dodo: “I went to the nursery to check on it and yelled at the other staff to come and take a look”.
“When I put my hand in the kennel, I thought they were going to pass out because they thought I was crazy and he was growling”. He is the friendliest person you will ever meet!”
On the shelter’s Facebook page, Sipe posted pictures of Cheech’s gorgeous smile, and the internet instantly fell in love with the cutest baby.
Cheech and the orphanage were delighted with the number of requests they received for Cheech.
The staff eventually found the perfect candidate, a woman whose ex-pup had died of cancer and her current dog gone mad.
From the moment they met, it became obvious that they were destined to be together. Cheech’s only desire was to hug his new siblings Dusty and his new mother.
