Thanks to the brave efforts of the United States Coast Guard, a dog was saved.
The US Coast Guard received a report of a ship whose dog ran aground in Pamlico Sound Harbor while they were conducting law enforcement activities in the area.
Coast Guard ship monitors noticed movement in calm water about five minutes after receiving the call. As they got closer, they found the missing dog swimming towards their boat.
Myla appeared to be in trouble and was relieved to learn that she was discovered by the Coast Guard.
The crew worked together to grab Myla and carry her to the plane when they got close enough.
They examined her to make sure she was safe and sound, and then treated her like royalty on their ship.
Fortunately, Myla did not suffer from exhaustion. The Coast Guard was able to reunite her with the frightened owners while they were on shore.
This is stated in the message of the station. “We would like to congratulate Myla for being a wonderful girl and a great dog swimmer”.
