The tiny kitten was filled with fear towards humans, refusing any assistance offered. Recognizing this, Kimberly Saxelby and Chris Gattas courageously resolved to venture into the area and save the distressed feline.
She said that when they arrived, they sat a catch and waited for the cat to come out of the car. However, they found out that the cat couldnât enter due to a tape roll on his head. So, they tried to catch the cat with a pole net as it attempted to flee from them, they trapped him within an abandoned shed.
They took the cat to Rancho Cucamonga Animal Sanctuary for treatment.
They said that there was a smell coming out of the shed and they thought it was a dead animal, however, it came from the rotting flesh and infection from the neck.
When they took the tape out it is when they realized how serious the situation was for the cat. She says that during the scene she wanted to cry because of what the cat had been through. And due to the roll tape, the cat was dehydrated and underweight.
The veterinary professionals performed a surgical procedure on the cat, ensuring a thorough clean-up. Since the cat was rescued on Valentine’s Day, it was aptly named Valentine.
