Responsible Dog Ownership: Minimizing Environmental Risks from Shedding

Shedding dogs can contribute to environmental hazards for other animals.🧐

Many dog owners will know this ”problem”. your beloved four-legged friend loses his thick winter coat and starts shedding.

Dog owners love to brush the fur of their four-legged pets outside to avoid spreading nasty fur around their four walls, but hairballs pose a danger to other animals.

Many housewives and masters take their dogs outside to keep the hated dust bunnies from flying all over the house.

Dr. Tina Holscher, a veterinarian, notes that ”bird parents like to use dog hairballs to build their nests.”

The hair itself is also not a problem, but if the dog has been treated with anti-parasitic drugs, which is of course important for the health of four-legged friends, then the hair is a danger to the bird world.

Instead, cleaning fallen hair should be done at home, even if it contains a lot of ”dirt” to begin with.
