This Sunday’s episode of “American Idol” was not like the others, as judges Perry and Richie had to attend the coronation of King Charles III in England and weren’t able to attend the music show.
Since the duo was unable to attend, the show invited other A-listers in their place.
During the presentation for Top 8, the usual judge Luke Bryan was accompanied by guest judges Ed Sheeran and Alanis Morissette.
Following the coronation, Perry and Richie gave a concert for the new King and Queen.
The duo was excited to attend the coronation and also shares with ET that they would tune in to the “American Idol” from the castle.
The duo revealed that they didn’t choose their replacements for the show but they were content with them. Perry added that she is a big fan of Sheeran and Alanis.
ABC streams American Idol at 8 p.m. ET on Sundays and Mondays throughout the season.
