An old Navy veteran rescued an old dog that was slated to be put down.đ„șđ„°
Meet Sam, a German Shepherd who has had a long and happy life with a loving family. Unluckily, his happy life ended when his owner was sent to the Navy and Sam was left in an orphanage.
Feeling lonely and heartbroken, Sam struggled to find a new home because no one wanted to take in an elderly dog. As a consequence, he was put on the list of dogs to be euthanized, which is a common practice for older dogs to make room for younger ones.
Luckily enough, 93-year-old Navy veteran George Johnson came to the rescue one day and decided to adopt Sam. Mr. Johnson had lost his white shepherd and felt very lonely, so he was looking for a dog that was much like his former companion. Sam and Mr. Johnson bonded with strong ties quickly and were very happy together. In spite of the fact, that both were old and lonely, they made a great match together and enjoyed each other’s company.
It’s exciting to hear such good news and we hope Sam and Mr. Johnson have many more happy years together. All’s well that ends well and life is even better together with a friend that alone.
