It was a real record when 16 Irish setter puppies were born at once and 15 remained alive

Typically, Irish Setters bring 7-9 puppies.

The world record is still far away, but the achievement inside the breed is undeniable. And, most interestingly, it was a surprise to everyone.

Usually, Irish setters bring 7-9 puppies, and therefore the duty veterinarian Louise Winfield did not even suspect that its entire department would have to work far beyond its shift. But the result is worth it!

Judy Frampton, the owner of a newly-made mother named Amelia, even suspected that there would be a lot of puppies before giving birth. Therefore, she turned to the veterinarians, for insurance, and she did not lose.

A four-year-old dog even had to make a cesarean section to give birth to all the babies, but 16 puppies are a lot! Alas, he did not survive alone, the smallest and weak, but now nothing threatens the rest.

Veterinarians and dog owners are not just proud of the results. In addition to the record, which is important in itself, the appearance of such a number of puppies at once can enrich the owner.

It’s really a good reason to rejoice!
