Every dog deserves the right to live, and not just be chained to the pole and abandoned.🥹🥹
Officer Angela Laurella got a report about two dogs chained at a dead-end street in Pompano, Florida.
There were no CCTV-s nearby, so there was no news about how long the dogs had been there or who had left them. Officer Laurella, on the other hand, realized that with 100 degrees temperatures outside, there was no time to waste. A small chain was used to secure the dog to the pole. The dog was weak and unhealthy.
Liam, so was the dog’s name, put his paw on the officer’s hand and tilted his head. ”The dog just kind of walked up to her and held out her hand and she kind of grimaced after the dog was trying to say, ’Hey!’ ”Please help me,” Roman explained.
Laurella reached out to the 100+ Abandoned Dog Rescue in the Florida Everglades for help. The rescue was actually full, but Roman accepted Liam.
After numerous vet visits, Liam is now resting at Roman’s home, where he recovers and eating better than before. Although Liam still has a long road ahead of him, as well as numerous vet visits, he has been a beacon of happiness since his rescue.
”He loves everybody, and is not mean at all, Roman observed. ”That says it all to me because, after everything he’s been through, he’s still so grateful and forgiving.”
With shelters at such capacity, Romans hopes pet owners will seek help and services from shelters and rescues before they realize they can no longer keep their pets. And Liam shows how every dog deserves the right to live.
