Stevie was rescued in South Carolina, where he was chained for his entire eight-year life together with Ponder named dog. The Lancaster County Animal Society adopted him and worked with other shelters, including Diamonds in the Ruff in New York, who agreed to take Stevie in. When they saw Stevie, they knew they will make him part of their orphanage family.

When Stevie arrived here, it was obvious that he had several problems, including worms, bugs, and a corncob stuck in his intestines, which required surgery to remove. On top of all his medical issues, his foster family had to be very patient to make him comfortable in his new family.

As Stevie began to heal, he was very grateful. His new family could see his very first different experiences, especially when he got a new bed. He had never had a soft bed before; this is why his new family tried as hard as he could. After getting that bed he was overjoyed.

Now every time Stevie sees a dog bed, he jumps with excitement. He is so excited that he has something that should make him cozy, and he shows his gratitude and joy every day.
