«Fortunately both survived»: No one believed that these twins would live after a difficult operation

Babies were born 10 weeks premature and weighed 900 g each.🥺🥺🥺

In 2016, the twins Erin and Abby were born. Of course, the parents were happy that they were born, but in this case, everything was very serious. These babies were born 10 weeks ahead of schedule and then they weighed 900 g.

The worst was that they had a fuse, and the doctors did not even give predictions that they would survive. The parents did not think to give up. They decided that they would still fight for the life of their babies and decided to do everything possible for their daughters, to do anything just to help their babies.

When the girls were 11 months old the doctors decided to do a very difficult operation that lasted 11 hours and finally the babies were separated and fortunately both survived.

Now the girls are almost 4 years old, and they feel great.

«I admire our girls. They are wonderful kids, they are real heroes». Doctors were satisfied with the operation and they always monitor the health of the girls, they monitor how they develop and this gives hope that they will always perform such operations with success.

This operation was the first in the history of medicine when Siamese twins were separated at such an early age.

«We were also very scared.

But we wanted to do everything possible to save the life of our babies», say the doctors.

After the operation, the babies needed an artificial coma for recovering the body from stress. Now the girls are undergoing therapy to restore brain function which did not develop.

In the coming years, they will still have operations to reconstruct the cranial boxes and insert the missing bones.

Now the parents are happy and grateful to all the doctors who helped their girls and were next to them. They are sure that their girls will have a happy and amazing life.
