The caregivers had to act as surrogate parents of the child while they were looking for a foster mother to raise Jibril and provide care that people could not provide. While they were doing so, he took refuge in a stuffed monkey toy. 16 months old Djibril found a new family in the BIOPARK Valencia animal park.

In this reserve, the welfare of the animals is taken care of by providing them with suitable natural habitats that promote their comfort and healing. This baby was given to a foster mother named Eva.

The start of little Djibril’s life was far from easy when he first arrived at BIOPARK Valencia in July 2019. The chimpanzee Malin was assigned to him, but she didn’t care for the child. Luckily, Eva, another monkey in there, took the baby in and took care of him.

According to WWF records, Djibril belongs to the so-called western chimpanzee, a species endangered in its natural habitat (WWF). So, it is very important to take care of his spices.
