This dog refused to leave the other dog for a week until humans came.
According to Dodo, Tilly, an adorable Irish Setter Spaniel mix, and Phoebe, a Basset Hound, walked together on Vashon Island in Washington.
Their owner, on the contrary, became worried when they did not return home at night. As a result, the boy turned to the Vashon Island pet organization for help.
Volunteers on Vashon Island searched for two dogs daily for more than a week, but without success. Then someone called and said that the “red” dog had approached them when they had been on their territory in the previous few days, and then quickly disappeared into the canyon.
It was then that they discovered that Tilly had been looking for help all this time, while her companion Phoebe was trapped in a cistern and could not get out.
Keri, a member of Vanish Island, told The Dodo: “We had been hunting for about a week when we heard from a farmer who actually saw a red dog on his property”.
“She just stood still, insisting that I come over so she could see her friend”, Carrie explained.
Everyone was moved to tears by Tilly’s great devotion and compassion for her friend. “As soon as I saw what was happening, I cried”. Kerry says, “That was so sweet”.
