Awkwafina shares her opinion on the Crazy Rich Asians sequel🤗

Fans of the movie are anxiously waiting for the sequel and in the meantime; the actress has revealed that her costars in the movie are like her family.

The 34-year-old actress who voiced Scuttle in the new animated movie The Little Mermaid gave an interview to GMA and revealed that the movie sequel is still in discussions.

She said that she believes that the movie will happen but she doesn’t know when.

The actress claims that her costars from the movie are like a family to her and reuniting with them would be a dream come true.

The sequel of the film that came out in 2018 is in development for many years now.

As per Deadline, who reported a year ago, a sequel and a spinoff based on characters Astrid Leong-Teo and Charlie Wu were in the works at the studio. The book China Rich Girlfriend is believed to be an inspiration for both of these books.

During an interview with E! News back in March 2022, Henry Golding said that the sequel is expected to be released sooner rather than later. He said that they are working on the writing.

He also revealed that he can’t wait to return to Singapore as he missed his friends and family.

As per Box Office Mojo, the movie was a huge success as it made $238 million compared to its budget of 30 million dollars.

In an interview with Harper’s BAZAAR, the actress praised the film as it opened doors for further representation of Asians in the industry.

She said that Asian-American actors had a hard time booking auditions before the movies came out and after the movie, it has changed significantly.
