It is a magnificent story of friendship between the guide dog and a blind dog.
Dog Jake lost his sight, but was able to adapt to a new life thanks to his friend Addie.
The latter, quite naturally, took on the role of guide, serving as his daily guide and soothing when he needed it.
At the age of 2, golden retriever Jake gradually lost his sight until he was completely blind. However, his family spared no effort to protect him.
Despite treatment and several surgeries, Jake’s eyes were causing him excruciating pain and becoming less and less functional. According to veterinarians, they either had to be removed or the animal had to be euthanized.
Two extremely tough choices, but the first one was the better alternative. Therefore, the decision was made to act.
After the operation, Jake gradually adjusted to his new condition.
Jake was very close with Addie.
The latter today leads an almost normal life thanks to her. He relies on his friend’s scent and the sound of his collar bell to find his way by following her.
