Few people know what lies behind this idyllic shot.
Many sites and bloggers describing how cool and wonderful to travel around the world almost never tell the whole truth.
Whether Lee Hodges and Willow Rolf were faced with this unpleasant reality when they went on a big tour of North America. At some point, they had to choose: they are or the cat, whom they saved.
Few people know what is behind this idyllic frame. The cat’s name is Amy, she is homeless.
In August 2019, the couple began their journey through the United States in the van converted for travel, and went south to the winter, to warm Mexican lands.
On the way, sentimental people picked up a kitten, almost a kitten, homeless and incredibly sad. In the past, the couple also had cats, so they took them with them. They ended up in Mexico in 2020, and there was a disaster due to the attack of dogs, the cat Amy had a paw broken.
The problem at first glance is ordinary if it had not been for her Covid-19. The borders were closed before our eyes, there were fewer and fewer chances of returning home, I had to throw a cat and drape it, almost literally.
Ensuring proper care for Amy’s paw in a cramped van and a hurry was unrealistic, plus there was a hitch with documents. And then they decided to stay and cure a cat! Thus began the annual adventure.
As foreigners, during the pandemic frightened Mexicans literally drove a couple from everywhere. Having barely replenished supplies, most of the time had to be spent in the wild, far from civilization.
But Amy’s paw was completely restored, and the cat itself became an avid traveler and visited Mexico with the owners in different corners. They traveled for almost a year, expecting the epidemic to subside, but now they decided to return home.
It is necessary to have time to draw up documents for Amy and cross the border from the United States by the end of January until the visas expire. Take a break, relax, and then you can go on a new trip with your cat!
